November 2009 - Dr. Najarian Receives Ellis Island Medal of Honor given by the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations (NECO) on May 9th

PRESS RELEASE

Tavit O. Najarian, Sc.D., Founder and President of Najarian Associates, Inc., is among this year's recipients of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor given by the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations (NECO) on May 9th. Each year NECO awards the Ellis Island Medal of Honor to outstanding American citizens who live a life dedicated to serving the community, promoting American values, and building bridges between ethnic communities within the United States and abroad. In choosing Dr. Najarian as a Medal of Honor recipient, NECO recognized his achievements not only as a successful businessman, engineer and scientist, but also as a humanitarian who has had a positive impact on his local community and in his ethnic ancestral country of Armenia. Previous honorees of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor include U.S. presidents, Nobel laureates, political and literary luminaries, sports and media personalities. NECO was created in 1984 on the conviction that the diversity of the American people is what makes this nation great.

The Ellis Island Medal of Honor ranks among the nation’s most prestigious awards. The U.S. Senate and House of Representatives have officially recognized the Ellis Island Medals of Honor, and each year the recipients are listed in the Congressional Record. To date, more than 1,500 American citizens have received Ellis Island Medals of Honor.
