Tavit O. Najarian, Sc.D.

President

Tavit O. Najarian, Sc.D. is President of Najarian Associates founded in 1979. He is an expert in the field of water resources. Over the past 35 years, Dr. Najarian has been involved with the development, adaptation, and application of mathematical models for hydrodynamic and water quality simulations of aquatic systems. He also serves as a consultant on hydraulic and environmental issues related to large-scale planned residential, commercial, industrial, and waterfront projects.

Dr. Najarian was appointed to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Science Advisory Board (SAB) in 2012. He also served on the Advisory Council of the New Jersey Water Resources Research Institute.

He is a member of several professional societies, including:

Dr. Najarian served on the Monmouth University Board of Trustees from 2005 through 2015, and has agreed to resume his position on the Board effective July 1, 2017.  He  also serves on the Advisory Committee of the Urban Coast Institute and on the Advisory Council for the School of Science.

In 2009, Dr. Najarian received the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor for professional and humanitarian endeavors in his local community and in his ancestral country of Armenia.

Dr. Najarian received his Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University and his Doctoral Degree in Civil Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was the first awardee of the Arthur T. Ippen Fellowship at MIT.
