Najarian Associates is
experienced in conducting linked watershed/receiving-water model
analyses to provide holistic assessments of water quality –
an essential element of TMDL studies. In both the Hackensack
and Passaic River Watersheds, Najarian Associates conducted
comprehensive watershed modeling studies to evaluate the relative
influences of nonpoint-sources on receiving-water quality. For the Great Swamp National
Wildlife Refuge (GSNWR), the NJDEP retained Najarian Associates to
develop GIS mappings/databases (using
ARCINFO®/ArcCAD® systems) and apply watershed
models to characterize stormwater inflows (both quantity and
quality) to the Swamp as a first stage in the development of
regional stormwater management plans. The firm is particularly
qualified in this area due to its knowledge of hydrology,
hydraulics, water quality modeling, GIS and mapping. Our
experience in stormwater and streamflow modeling, flooding analyses
and delineation, water quality TMDL analyses and land development
places our organization in a position to consider all facets of a
complex stormwater management plan.
Dr.
Najarian served as chairman of the Technical Advisory Committee
(TAC) for the Whippany Watershed Program -- New Jersey’s pilot TMDL
program. Representative projects are
listed here.
